(New Market) — Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash near New Market Tuesday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, troopers responded to a crash near the intersection of Highway 2 and B Street in New Market around 6 p.m. Authorities say 19-year-old Konner Ray Martin of New Market was driving eastbound on Highway 2 when his vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Jean Ann Minor of Clarinda.

Martin’s vehicle spun and came to rest upright in the north ditch, while Minor’s vehicle continued and entered the north ditch before coming to rest. Martin and Minor were both taken to Clarinda Regional Health Center by Clarinda EMS with undisclosed injuries.

A passenger in one of the vehicles — 18-year-old Sophia Alezandra Groumoutis of Creston — was flown by LifeNet to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha with serious injuries. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Page County Sheriff’s Office, Clarinda EMS, New Market EMS and LifeNet assisted the state patrol at the scene.
